EAST COAST ECONOMIC REGION (ECER)

The East Coast Economic Region (ECER) is an economic development region in the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia and it covers the Pahang district.

The ECER is an investment vehicle to jumpstart economic development. It is part of the Federal Government's intent for Malaysia to become a high income developed nation in 2020 and ultimately, increase inflow of FDI and industrialisation in the region.

The East Coast Expressway phase 2 which will connect Kuantan and Kuala Terengganu is currently under construction. The development plan will increase the length of the expressway into two phases: Phase 3 connects Kuala Terengganu and Kota Bharu, ending in Pengkalan Kubor and phase 4 connects Kuantan and Johor. Furthermore, airports in Kuantan is set for upgrading.

Key clusters under the ECER plan include tourism, oil and gas, manufacturing, agriculture and human capital development - all of which will see federal funds invested to drive growth.

South Oceans™ is located in the ECER zone. Hence growth in real estate value at South Oceans™ is expected to grow at least 10 per cent per annum.

Additionally, a marketing spectrum to brand South Oceans™ will accelerate capital gains upwards..
